IL VOLTO DEI SOGNI

L'atelier “Bottega Indaco” di Torino presenterà ad Alassio (SV), presso l'ex Chiesa Anglicana, una mostra di pittura dal titolo “Il volto come incarnazione del sogno”.

La mostra verrà realizzata grazie al patrocinio del Comune di Alassio, sarà inaugurata il 30 agosto 2008 e si protrarrà fino al 28 settembre.

Una collettiva che comprenderà le opere di Ciro Palumbo, Akira Zakamoto, Luisella Bardella, Claudia Giraudo e Laura Giai Baudissard.

Durante la serata d’inaugurazione si potrà assistere a una performance teatrale incentrata sulla potenza espressiva del volto in relazione ai sogni e alle emozioni, e verrà proiettato un video che sarà un vero e proprio viaggio tra i segreti di un volto umano, nel quale si cercherà di scandagliare i tratti somatici in quanto chiavi di lettura degli universi onirici di un individuo.

L'intento degli artisti è quello di comunicare, attraverso i propri dipinti, la magia evanescente del sogno, la sua forza emozionale e creatrice, e la sua affascinante poliedricità.

I cinque pittori hanno peculiarità, provenienze, stili e tecniche a volte anche molto diversi, ed è interessante poter ammirare come ognuno di loro interpreta questo affascinante tema.

Palumbo, con le sue risonanze metafisiche, attribuisce ai volti magie delicate e surreali, e sulle sue tele i sogni si stagliano come caleidoscopi palpitanti.

Tra oggetti ludici, scorci di elementi naturali e atmosfere che evocano un’estetica classicheggiante, i visi acquistano una complessità estrema, dettagliata e dinamica. Le emozioni e i sogni si rispecchiano in ogni sussulto della carne, in ogni cangiante sfumatura dello sguardo, in ogni lieve contorsione della pelle.

I sogni di Palumbo partono dalla realtà per ribaltare la realtà, e l’uomo è un audace Prometeo che ruba il fuoco sacro agli dei per regalarlo a se stesso e diventarne il custode eterno.

Zakamoto elargisce al sogno il volto di esseri venuti da mondi lontani, creature rilucenti che ci guardano da una dimensione superiore. I baluginii degli occhi di questi esseri illuminati sembrano racchiudere la magia di un segreto che si svela attraverso simboli arcani e colori fantasmagorici. E dove l’illusione di un sogno conosciuto si sgretola, un nuovo sogno sconosciuto, appena intuito e abbozzato, prende forma ed esplode negli spazi rarefatti di universi iridescenti. I bambini indaco dei quadri di Zakamoto, avvolti da sfavillanti pianeti e stelle rutilanti, sono i detentori di una nuova consapevolezza. Essi sembrano prenderci per mano per condurci a compiere un salto quantico all'interno di noi stessi, per farci fagocitare dalle vorticose cascate di luce che permeano il nostro spirito.

Nei quadri di Luisella Bardella possiamo vedere, invece, come la materia si trasformi e si mescoli, in modo del tutto imprevedibile, per addentrarsi in spazi semantici molto lontani da quelli originari.

E dal legame viscerale e sottile che unisce una madre e una figlia scaturisce un sogno che gioca con le regole del tempo, anticipando desideri e speranze, annullando la convenzionalità della dimensione temporale lineare, e, in un balzo intimo e pieno di pathos, possiamo immergerci nella delicatezza dell’anelito onirico che genera la vita stessa, attraverso l’unione, spirituale prima ancora che carnale, di due anime.

Claudia Giraudo concepisce l’individuo come incarnazione di una bellezza in nuce, quasi ontologica, dove l’essere umano perde i suoi contorni specifici per varcare territori atemporali, dalle valenze assolute ed eterne, sullo sfondo di palcoscenici suggestivi che evocano atmosfere teatrali e cinematografiche.

I suoi volti esprimono magnificenza ma allo stesso tempo un'intensa carica spirituale.

La pittrice scava così nell’anima dei suoi personaggi alla ricerca dei loro sogni, trasformando le loro sembianze, nobilitandole, rendendole eccezionali, universali e uniche.

Laura Giai Baudissard intreccia con eleganza e perizia la fotografia con la pittura e l’arte digitale, per ritrovare il sogno che unisce l’essere umano alla natura. La vegetazione che avvolge i suoi volti è l'emblema dell’ambivalente fusione dell’individuo con gli elementi del cosmo, con la physis, e con la parte più profonda e intima del suo spirito.

Il sogno è racchiuso nella tensione verso qualcosa che ci attrae e ci appartiene ma che allo stesso tempo è distante da noi, come una chimera magnifica e inafferrabile che ci imprigiona tra gli artigli di un desiderio imperfetto e sdrucciolevole.

In questa mostra, dunque, il denominatore comune è il volto come espressione del sogno. Un volto che incarna il sogno custodito dentro la nostra anima, che ne è il simbolo, che funge da tramite tra il conscio e l'inconscio, tra lo spirito e la corporeità.

E’ nel volto che la nostra essenza si specchia e si espande. Il viso umano diventa così una tela su cui le nostre sensazioni e i nostri sogni, come scintille di colori infiniti, si disegnano e si definiscono, cangiando in continuazione come materia viva e pulsante.

E lo sguardo attento e sapiente di questi artisti tenta di catturare e carpire la magia sublime degli universi onirici di uno sguardo, di una bocca, di uno zigomo, perché il corpo comunica in modo molto più profondo e autentico del linguaggio verbale, e la pittura è l’arte che meglio può rivelare, attraverso il potere suggestivo delle immagini, i segreti seducenti e stupendi che albergano negli abissi dell’animo umano.

E questo viaggio alla ricerca delle radici profonde del Sogno prosegue con una mostra personale di Ciro Palumbo, ospitata dalla galleria “Arte è Kaos” di Alassio, a partire dal 6 settembre fino al 28 settembre 2008. In questa esposizione il Sogno sarà sempre l'elemento centrale dell'analisi pittorica, ma si espanderà ulteriormente; si sposterà dal volto e penetrerà nei recessi nascosti degli oggetti, per affacciarsi sugli umori sottili della psiche umana che questi oggetti crea e plasma, trasformandoli in simboli visionari di universi sotterranei e conturbanti. Così la prospettiva muta, e il punto di vista si amplia e si accresce. L'artista, dunque, focalizzerà l'attenzione sulle molteplici sfaccettature che dal Sogno possono sortire, soffermandosi sulle infinite combinazioni, incanti e contaminazioni che il nostro inconscio può generare.

The face of the dream

The atelier ‘ Bottega Indaco’ of Turin will present, at the ex-Anglican Church in Alassio, a painting exhibition entitled ‘The face as the incarnation of the dream’.

The exhibition will be realised under the patronage of ‘Comune di Alassio’. It is going to be opened from the 30^th August to the 28^th September and it includes works of Ciro Palumbo, Akira Zakamoto, Luisella Bardella, Claudia Giraudo, Laura Giai Baudissard.

During the opening evening will be possible to be present a theatrical performance focused on the expressive strength of the face in relation to the dreams and the emotions. It will be also shown a video, a real journey through the secrets of human face, which will try to understand the oneiric universes of every character.

The purpose of the artists is to communicate through their own paintings, the evanescing magic of the dream, its emotional and creative strength and its fascinating polyedricality.

The five painters have very different peculiarities, styles, origins and techniques, but it is interesting to find out and admire how every single one of them interprets this charming theme.

Palumbo, with his metaphysic features, give to the faces surreal and tender magic and as throbbing kaleidoscopes, the dreams are silhouetted against his canvas.

The faces acquire a detailed and dynamic complexity among toy-like objects, foreshortening of natural elements and atmospheres, which evoke an aesthetic with classical features.

The emotions and the dreams are reflected in every wince of the flash, in every changing shade of the glance, in every slight tremble of the skin.

The dreams of Palumbo come from reality in order to overturn reality and the man is a bold Prometheus that steals the holy fire from the gods to give it to himself and become the eternal keeper.

Zakamoto lavishes to the dream the face of creatures coming from distant worlds, bright creatures that look at us from a higher dimension.

The eyes glimmer of these enlightened beings seems to contain the magic of a secret, which reveals itself through mysterious symbols and phantasmagoric colours. And where the illusion of a known dream crumbles, a new unknown dream, just perceived or sketched, takes shape and explodes in rarefied spaces of iridescent universes. The Indaco Children of Zakamoto’s paintings are the holder of a new awareness. It seems that they hold us by hand leading us in a quantum jump inside ourselves in order to be engulfed in whirling shining falls that permeate our spirit.

In The Luisa Bardella ‘s Paintings, on the contrary, we can see how, in a very unpredictable way, the matter changes and mixes in order to go deeply to semantic spaces far away from the original ones. And so a dream springs from the thin and deep-rooted tie that bind a mother to a daughter, playing with the time rules, bringing forward wishes and hopes, dissolving the conventionality of the linear temporal dimension. In an intimate and full of pathos jump, we can immerse ourselves in the delicacy of a dreamy yearning which generates the life itself through the union, spiritual at first and then carnal, of two souls.

Claudia Giraudo conceive the individual as an incarnation of the beauty 'in nuce', almost ontological, where the human being loses its specific outlines to cross timeless territories and with absolute and everlasting values. While in the background fascinating stages evoke theatrical and cinematic atmospheres. Her faces express magnificence but at the same time a deep spiritual might. The painter, in this way, digs deep in the souls of her changing characters, searching for their dreams, transforming their features, ennobling them making them exceptional universal and unique.

Laura Giai Baudissard interlaces photography, painting and digital art in a skilful and elegant way in order to recover the dream that connects the human being with nature. The vegetation which envelopes her faces, is the emblem of ambivalent merging between human being and the elements of Cosmo, with ‘phisis’ and with the inner part of human soul.

The dream tends towards something that at the same time attracts and belongs to us but it is distant, as a wonderful and elusive Chimera that imprisons us in the claws of an imperfect and slippery wish.

In this exhibition the common denominator is the face as the expression of the dream. A face that embodies the dream preserved inside our soul and body.

Our essence is reflected and spread out in the face. The human face becomes a canvas where our feelings and our dreams, as sparks of endless colours, draw and define themselves in a continuous changing as living and throbbing matter.

And the thorough and able look of these artists tries to capture and grab the sublime magic of the dreamlike universes of a glance, a mouth, a cheek-bones, because the body communicate in a true and a better way than spoken language, and the painting is the art that better reveals, through the evocative power of images, the wonderful and charming secrets that live in the depth of human being.

And this journey into the deep root of the dream continues with a personal exhibition of Ciro Palumbo, at the ‘Art è Kaos’ gallery of Alassio, from the 6^th September to the 28^th September 2008. In this exposition the Dream will be always the central point of the pictorial analysis, but it will spread further; from the face it will move into the hidden recesses of the objects, going towards the fine moods of human psyche, which creates and moulds them, transforming them in visionary symbols of underground universes.

In such a way the point of view changes becoming wider and wider. The artist focuses his attention on the manifold aspects that the Dream can produce, lingering upon the endless combination, enchantments and influences that our unconscious can generates.
